Answers to - How many kids over 500 years have climbed this tree?
From I grew Up in Tottenham Reunited - Facebook Page

Ann Johnson Used to sit and have lunch under it in the summer when I went to risley avenue school for Girls. Also when my son was little would have lunch with him under it. Live in Bedfordshire now it was great seeing pics of it.
Kevin Paul Smith I climbed that tree as a child, got right to the top and looked down, it scared the bloody hell out of me! Ha ha
Christine Edwards I climbed everwhere tuck your dress in your knickers he he
Margaret Jess I climbed that old oak a hundred times
Roger Garnett Me and my mates were always climbing the old oak. A fabulous tree. 1960-61 would have been the first time.
Kathy Fardell Wouldn’t it be fun to watch a speeded-up clip of EVERYONE who has ever climbed this magnificent tree over the past century
Mike Brown Many happy afternoons spent up that tree :)
Sammy Niblett Still looking good I remember 65 years ago climbing that great tree brilliant days
Keith Westcott Used to live in Bruce Grove used to clime this tree quite regularly late 40s/early 50s
Michael Gammond I've been up that many times like my dad and uncles before me
Pat Ramsden Never climbed it but sat under it so many times, having picnics under its shade. Beautiful tree. It's like part of the family to so many.xx
Laura Budd God its been over 50 yrs since i last climbed the old oak tree, just about climb the stairs now lol.
Elaine Bark The school used to take us to the park to play rounders and we used to put all our equipment and belongings under the shade of this tree. Xx
Kim Middleton That is the best tree in Bruce Grove Climbed it myself a few times as a kid I doubt if there is another one like it anywhere.
Ray Kingsland Its amazing how many of us just on here who have climbed that tree over the years! Talk about something in common :))
Jean Nicholls My sister fell of this tree and broke her arm got to be 65 years ago
Mark Fuller I did 45 years ago and my dad did 70 years ago
Sue Casado-lara Me and my sister used to climb up about 37 years ago or more, my sister fell once and hurt her ankle on a small stumpy bit at the bottom
Alan Faupel I remember sitting on these branches when I was a kid looking at the American and Australian troops enjoying themselves at Billy Smarts Fair and Circus.
Marie Barbet Over 70 years ago with my brother he climbed higher than me though, lovely memories.
Les Vial I went to Lancasterian School next door to Bruce Castle Park. Being fairly good at art I was sent over to draw a picture of the oak tree and told to take my time, so I did and was gone about two hours - I was about 8 years old - the past truly is a foreign place.....
Graham Capes 65years ago I climbed the old oak, did not get very far.  I went to Lancasterian  & Rowland Hill schools

In Tottenham seven trees were planted in a ring over 400 years ago for reasons lost in time; the Seven Sisters area and the underground station are named after them. The seven trees have been replanted a number of times, always by seven sisters.

The Tottenham Trees logo, shown on the right, is a silhouette of the Bruce Castle Oak with the logo of the Charter for Trees, Woods and People launched in November 2017, on the 800th anniversary of the Royal Charter of the Forest.
