Tree Charter Day and National Tree Week 2020
Tottenham Trees will be celebrating the Kenyan Nobel Peace Laureate and founder of the Green Belt Movement, Wangari Maathai,
on Twitter during #National Tree Week. Tottenham Trees had several events planned throughout the year on
Wangari Maathai, who would have been 80 years old this year, but we sadly had to cancel due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
To find out lots of interesting facts about her and read her inspirational quotes, please join us on

Charlotte Rixon, of Tottenham Trees, is celebrating National Tree Week on her street with a 'Tree Art Walk' and activities for children. Local artists and children will be displaying art inspired by trees in their windows for passers-by to admire. Families are also being encouraged to explore the trees on their street, identify the species of their nearest street tree and hang up a sign in the tree to tell people what species it is. Perhaps, your street could do something similar and we could fill our windows with tree pictures just like we did with rainbow pictures during the first lockdown?
